The Mullan Contracting Company Captures Merit Award From Associated Builders And Contractors (ABC) For Carney Village Renovation Program

Baltimore, MD (March 9, 2015) – The Mullan Contracting Company has won a “Merit Award” from the Baltimore Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) in its 2015 awards competition, for the completion of wholesale renovations to Carney Village. Owned and managed by Continental Realty Corporation, the 52,000 square foot shopping center is located on 9613 Harford Road in the Carney section of Baltimore County.

The six-month construction program included the complete re-facing of the shopping center, the installation of two architectural towers on opposite ends of the project, the replacement of the roof and sidewalks, and the addition of a common space green area in front of Mars Supermarket. In addition, two new pylon signs were added, the center was completely re-painted, the parking lot was sealed and re-striped and new landscaping features were incorporated into the center.

Positioned at the intersection of Joppa and Harford Roads off Beltway Exit 31, Carney Village is anchored by Mars Supermarket and features a number of complementary retailers. More than 125,000 consumers reside within a five-mile radius of the shopping center.

“Mullan Contracting did an excellent job of minimizing the disruption of shopping activity and maintaining the normal flow of consumer traffic into Carney Village, as well as creating safe conditions throughout the construction process,” stated David Donato, Vice President of Continental Realty’s Commercial Division. “Mullan devised a strategy that accomplished an accelerated schedule, while also respecting our existing tenants and the shopping needs of the community.”
